Finally the days of frizz, anti-humidity hairspray, and clinical deodorant are almost over. This means (praise the hair Gods) that sooner than later leaves will be falling and a nice cool breeze will take victory over the hair hating humidity of the summer. Ladies, I don't know about you- but I am beyond excited to curl up in my big comfy sweaters and read on my front porch (bookworm problems).
With that being said, the most exciting change fall brings is an opportunity for vastly new trends in hair color. This means it is time to kick away the platinum blonde and bring out the sophisticated shades of burgundy and chestnut. If we know one thing for sure at Jada- it's Fall hair colors. Our own CMO, Danielle McDowell rocks a super sassy shade of red that we just can't get enough of. Needless to say, we know our stuff, so below are Jada's top colors for Fall 2013. Choose wisely, ladies!
1) Honey Tones
Transition away from the traditional platinum blonde summer hues. Rather, talk to your stylist about getting a honey shade. In particular, I love how Jennifer Lopez's color features a slightly darker root with lighter ends. This allows you to keep hair blonder and create a more fall festive appeal.
Describe this color as "medium honey blonde" to your stylist. Better yet, show a photo! The more info and description you can give, the better. It ensures a great outcome!
2) Strawberry Gold
In place of red, try straying towards gold hues this Fall. Blake Lively hit the nail on the head with her Strawberry Gold color. Unlike bright red, which can often be somewhat overbearing, this shade goes well with all clothing colors and all work environments, while still creating a look that is subtlety "outside of the box".
Describe this color as "golden red" or "rich golden strawberry" to your stylist. Remember to show a photo when you can.
3) Chesnut Hue
The traditional chestnut shade for Fall will never grow old. Copy Beyonce's look for a super sophisticated, yet flirty hue for the season. I love that the color has so much depth and warmth, this makes hair look shinier and healthier just based on color alone!
Describe this color as "warm chestnut" to your stylist. The more info and description you can give, the better. You'll both be on the same page when you show a photo of what you want.
4) Milk Chocolate
Somehow Demi always seems to make my favorite hair color lists. But, let's be honest... the girl knows good hair. Take advice from her this Fall and try out a Chocolate tone. If the idea of going this dark scares you, ask your stylist for lighter roots which will make the entire transition much less intense.
Describe this color as "rich milk chocolate" or "deep chocolate brown" to your stylist. It helps to name your celeb inspiration, but since many celebs are color chameleons, images are key.
One of my personal favorite color trends for Fall this year is the cinnamon shade of red Drew Barrymore is sporting. The color itself ads much definition and contains natural highlights from the way the light reflects it. Perfect for a the woman seeking a flirty, fun color for this years festivities!
Describe this color to your stylist as "warm copper" or "medium brown with cinnamon hues".
