Bad Hair Days from the Past: What’s Hiding in Your Photo Album?

We can all agree that hairstyles are always subject to change and new trends. And in the moment- we might change our hair to a certain color or experiment with a new haircut that seems trendy and fashionable. However, there is a strong chance we will later refer to that era as our “bad hair days from the past.”

Sometimes I wonder if I’ll look back and say, “I used to have bangs! What was I thinking?”

No, I think I'll just regret wearing those Hipster glasses without any lenses.

I can certainly say I regretted the bangs my mom let me leave the house with when I was 10.

At least my sister didn't leave me hanging...we both had mile high bangs.

And how could we forget about the mullet I screamed and begged for when I was six. I wanted to be like Billy Ray Cyrus – his song “Achy Breaky Heart” was the theme song my childhood. Don’t judge.

Go ahead and say it- I look like a boy.

When I was about 12, I remember desperately wanting my hair cut like T-boz from TLC.
Why? No one in the world will ever know. Thankfully, mom did NOT let me rock this haircut...

The bad hair days from the past can certainly come back and haunt us. Or make us laugh during a fun girls night in. I asked my fellow MBFH bloggers to email me their wild and crazy hair from the past.

Here is what they dug up and dusted off their shelves:

Hannah Shaner

Hannah shared this little with us in her recent post. Prior to this picture, Hannah had SUPER long hair and then in second grade, she got the brilliant idea to chop it, resulting in a bowl cut. Her mom threw on made everyone wear denim on denim (baller vest, girl) and that turned her into the ultimate hottie.

Melanie Allen

Are you guilty of wearing cornrows to your school dance?  Our Marketing Manager Melanie Allen shared this picture from a high school dance. She spent the entire night with a terrible headache! Don't worry, Mel - I'm guilty too.

Morgan Elizabeth

Our new stylist coordinator, Morgan, also rocked the toddler bowl cut. She thinks this picture was taken in 1989 and added, "as if the turquoises ankle biter sweatpants didn't give it away."

If you were a teenage girl in the 90s, then you probably have a few pictures with baby pig tails. Why? I'll let Morgan do the explaining, "This pictures was definitely taken around 1997. I distinctly remember this day because It was school picture day and I told my mom I wanted hair like Baby Spice of the Spice Girls."

She inspired us all, Morgan.

Chrissy Colgrove

Chrissy shared a picture of her "luscious black locks" from her middle school days. She has since tamed her down with a fantastic cut and style. Check out her now look here.

Rachel Zajac

How can we forget wearing our a single strand of bangs parted down the middle of our face? Rachel also found inspiration in Baby Spice by using clips to pin back from baby pig tails. She has since ditched the pigtails and added fuller bangs. Take a look for yourself!

So, what wild hairstyles are hiding in your photo albums?

Or what about outrageous hairstyles have you rocked for Halloween? Our very own Samantha Harris dressed as a lion and made her hair into a mega fro (pictured below in the middle).

Don’t be shy! Share your pictures with us on Twitter and Facebook.
