Here is my confession of the day: I have always been lazy with my nails. I honestly don't know why I keep neglecting them - a fresh coat of polish is the easiest thing that a gal could do to make herself feel instantly confident and pulled together! But after seeing all of the trendy nail colors this winter, I decided it is finally time to become the one being envied instead of the other way around. With two holiday parties this week and three next, I wanted to find the perfect shades to compliment not only my outfits, but the spirit of the season. Here are my favorite hues that I am going to take through the winter.
Black: When I spotted this black glitter polish from Dior it immediately went to the top of my must-have list. This is the perfect color to complete a sexy look for a cocktail party. Add a smokey eye and you will feel unstoppable.
Champagne: Nars hit the nail on the head with this champagne hue. Not too gold, not too yellow, and just enough shimmer. This professional yet subtly stylish color would be great for the holiday office party. Blue: The nail world is going crazy over blue hues this winter and I can't blame them. Earlier this fall we were thrilled to see that the black/blue combo was no longer fashion's biggest faux pas. Now all you need to do is throw on your favorite little black dress and paint your nails this electric blue by Sephora, and you are all set to go.
Red: There is no color more festive than red. Poinsettias, candy canes, you name it and almost everything holiday has it. If you are feeling daring, try adding this Vibrant Red from Yves Saint Laurent to the tips of a stiletto nail. That will guarantee a noticeable entrance.
Purple: I have always been a big fan of purple so I was happy to see it making waves again in the fashion world this winter. If you want something a little less traditional this holiday season go try out this purple hue from Illamasqua.
