Do you have an upcoming hair appointment? If you’re anything like me, you seek hair inspiration from actresses in your favorite TV shows. In fact, just recently I made the switch to bangs thanks to inspiration from Zooey Deschanel!
Glee, now in its fourth season, is a popular musical comedy about a group of teenagers who are trying to “escape the harsh realities of high school by joining a glee club where they can find strength, acceptance, and ultimately, their voice.” With millions of viewers each week, the Glee hair stylists have a lot of pressure to keep the girls looking stylish and beautiful. If only I had professional hair dressers in high school…I might have avoided dying my hair bleach blonde on a few occasions. Oh, we live and learn.
Anyway, I digress. Let’s take a look at some of the hairstyles and trends these beautiful Glee girls are rocking this year:
Rachel - In Season 4, Rachel moves to New York City to pursue her dreams. The move to The Big Apple resulted in a makeover (with some help from Kurt). And the best part? Her sophisticated new look includes bangs. YES!
Brittany - Brittany is famous for her slicked back and curly ponytail. Check out My Best Friend’s Hair Product Matchmaker page for advice on products to create her sporty, chic look.
Quinn - Quinn returned last season with a dramatic new hairstyle. She chopped off her hair and colored it hair pink. I personally loved her short, choppy hair with lots of layers. Quinn is returning to Glee soon will another new do. Be sure to watch this week to see her new style.
Tina - In season 4, Tina made some big changes to her hair. She lightened it up with some golden brown highlights. She continues to represent the across the forehead bangs, which is a great style for her face.
Mercedes - I've always loved Mercedes’ hair, and this season is no different.I love that she mixed it up this season by adding light brown highlights to the ends of her hair. By curling her hair, the highlights stand out even more.
Santana - As a senior, Santana is embracing a more “grown up” style. The longer hair without bangs reminds me of the Hippie look in our current Halloween contest.
Sue - Sue’s hair matches her personality and lifestyle: a woman on the go! Her short and layered hair makes it easy for Sue to manage a fun or classy look depending on her plans that day.
Emma - The best part of Emma’s hair (in my opinion) is the color. Her skin tone and eyes match her red hair perfectly. I adore her classy and modern hair style as well. You probably won't be shocked to know that also I love her long, swoopy bangs.
The Glee actresses have great hairstyles and colors for our beautiful style seekers (aka you-reading this blog post right now) to reference.
