Football season is in full swing, which means one thing: TAILGATING. Tailgating is so much more than football! It's about having fun with friends, chowing down on party food, and looking fab while cheering on your favorite team. Here are some cute, low-maintenance styles to look your best next Sunday afternoon.

Simple Pony - I felt the need to consult my Colts-loving husband for this post. He explained that the best style to wear when tailgating is a simple pony. "Time spent fussing with your hair is less time spent drinking beer," he said. What could be easier than a ponytail? Add volume by prepping your tresses with Aveda Volumizing Tonic and pulling your hair into a stacked pony.

Messy Bun - This is my take on a simple style. It's more than a pony, but still looks effortless. To keep your bun in place, try using the Goody Spin Pin, which has the hold power of 20 bobby pins... and is much easier to take down at the end of the night!

Easy Waves - Who says beachy waves are just for summer? Start by adding a sea salt-based spray to damp hair. We love Bumble and Bumble Surf Spray and let your hair dry naturally. In a rush? Blow dry with a diffuser. Finish of with a light hairspray like Aquage Finishing Spray.

Put a Braid on It - Adding this type of braid can take both your wavy look and your ponytail to the next level with very minimal effort. Finish by spritzing the braid with a medium hold hairspray like Fekkai Coiff Sheer Hold Hairspray. You don't want any hairs out of place before the game ends!

You're on your way to looking chic while cheering on your favorite team! Next up, grab a drink! Here is our favorite drink recipe for a fall tailgate: Touchdown Tea!
1 oz Jack Daniels
2 oz Lemonade
2 oz Sweet Tea
Strong and tasty. Every time your team scores take a chug at one of these. Combine JD and Sweet Tea in a shaker and strain into a highball glass. Top with lemonade and garnish with the citrus peel of your choice.
For the love of hair and football,
Melanie
